Ingredients

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Lettuce, tomato, and condiments of choice for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties. Season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
