- 4 cups whole milk

Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the rice, whole milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the semisweet chocolate chips to the hot rice pudding and stir until the chocolate is melted and evenly distributed.
- Allow the chocolate rice pudding to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- If desired, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
