Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients

- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup milk (whole or any preferred type)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Salt to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the diced sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter, milk, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and a pinch of salt to the sweet potatoes.
- Mash the sweet potatoes using a potato masher or an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed and season with additional salt to taste.
- Transfer the mashed sweet potatoes to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
