Florentine Cookies


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup candied fruits, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugar together. Stir in the flour and cream until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and add the almonds, candied fruits, and vanilla extract.
  4. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  5. Flatten each mound with the back of a spoon.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea.
